After a promising magistrate, Lu Jiang Lai is ruined by an old murder case involving his wife, he is left injured, without memories, and forced to flee. He is saved by Rong Shan Bao, the sharp and calculating daughter of the Tea King—once his rival—who hides who he is and puts him to work as a stable boy to settle her own score.

As Lu Jiang Lai goes along to protect himself, he becomes caught up in the Rong family’s intense search for a suitable son-in-law. Surrounded by schemes and hidden motives, he and Shan Bao clash in a game of strategy that gradually turns into something more.
