After resigning from SNK, Man Wai Sam joins Lau Yin’s start-up media outlet, Open Platform, where she quickly dominates the digital news scene and continues her rivalry with former colleagues Ko Siu Wah and Cheung Ka Yin. Her rising influence unsettles SNK’s leadership, especially Ko, now the station’s news director.

Though promoted to deputy director, Cheung finds her ambitions stifled under Ko’s control. Refusing to compromise her ideals, she defects to a newly launched news organization, igniting a three-way battle among SNK, Open Platform, and the upstart outlet. At the center of the storm stands Hui Sze Ching of the Government Information Services Department, courted aggressively by all sides.
