The story picks up with Luo Jing getting a second chance, but it means she has to go to a ceremony on a ship, even though Wu Mei, her husband, warned her not to go because a fortuneteller said she might drown. During the event, assassins attack, badly hurting Wu Mei with a poisoned dagger and trying to kill Luo Jing. Luckily, Liu Xiu Wen helps her escape by swimming away and jumping off a cliff, but he gets seriously hurt too, and both of them go missing. Wu Mei, heartbroken and stuck in bed, is desperate to find his missing wife, while Luo Jing is trying to save Xiu Wen, not knowing her husband is in danger. As misunderstandings pile up after this disaster, their marriage starts to fall apart, especially when the Emperor gets involved in their relationship.
