In 1926, Mu Wan Qing returns to China with her mother’s ashes. Pretending to make peace with her estranged father, her real goal is to uncover the truth about why her parents separated and what led to her brother's death. At the same time, Tan Xuan Lin rises to power after a military coup in Shanghai, becoming the new commander, though he still faces many challenges. Xu Guang Yao, the son of another powerful commander, is well-respected but doesn’t like the political games that come with his family’s position.
