The story follows Shang Yi Zhi, son of the Grand Princess, who hides behind the façade of a carefree playboy to protect his identity. He crosses paths with A Mai, the Duke of Jingguo’s daughter from Southern Xia, who disguises herself as a man while seeking vengeance against her foster brother, Chen Qi, for slaughtering her family.

After A Mai repeatedly saves Shang Yi Zhi, their fates become intertwined. When war breaks out, both join the army—Shang Yi Zhi rising as a general and A Mai earning her rank through sheer skill. On the battlefield, A Mai frequently clashes with enemy general Chang Yu Qing, and their life-and-death encounters forge an unexpected respect between them.

Amid pursuit, danger, and shifting loyalties, Shang Yi Zhi searches for his true path with A Mai’s help. Yet the brutal demands of war force them to set aside personal feelings, devoting their youth and resolve to protect their homeland.
