Po Chung Ling, born into a New Year print-making family in Jinan, is a bright young man. His father, Po Poon, hopes he will one day take over the family business. However, Ling suspects his father is involved with corrupt officials and refuses to listen to him.

Ling’s close friend, Ko Jit, is a constable who also despises corruption. When rumors spread about a fox spirit causing trouble in Jinan, Ling and Jit investigate. Ling is nearly killed, but a mysterious girl, Ling Wu Siu Tsui, saves him just in time. She turns out to be the fox spirit, repaying a favor from the past. As they grow closer, Tsui begins to fall in love with Ling.

Meanwhile, the Po family secures a major order of New Year prints and hires many female workers to meet the deadline. Among them is Lau Sum Yu, secretly searching for the man who betrayed her sister. Unexpectedly, she finds herself entangled in a love triangle with Ling and Jit.
