The serial is split into three parts, all starring Miu Kiu Wai with a different female lead in each. In part one, he plays Yung Chi Wan, a lazy young man uninterested in kung fu, much to his father's disappointment. His cousin, played by Margie Tsang, arrives to live with them per her late parents' wishes. They unknowingly meet when Yung Chi Wan takes her jade pendant, not realizing she’s his cousin, and is punished. His father, who once defeated a powerful villain using the Dragon Sword, declares that whoever can pull the sword from its resting place will be taught its techniques. Yung Chi Wan unexpectedly unlocks it after being struck by lightning. Meanwhile, Sean Lau plays a loyal student-turned-villain who seeks to inherit the legacy by becoming the best fighter. Margie eventually grows close to Yung Chi Wan and supports him through his trials.
